TESTIMONIAL

Family class With Domenic & Nick

Just wanted you to know how much Domenic and I enjoy your class. A few weeks ago I told him that going to both Cub Scouts and Karate was too much, and it was interfering with his school work. It took him about 3 seconds to decide that cub scouts had to go. Out of all the things he tried (Cub Scouts, soccer….) Karate is the only one he is really into and tries his best. It’s cool to see him at home working on what he learned, and showing it off to the rest of our family. And best of all, it gives him and I something to do together. Anyway just wanted to pass that on. People are quick to tell you when you screw up, but rarely tell you when you doing something right.

Thanks,
Nick

Danielle & Maria's test

Many, many thanks for all you and your school are doing for Danielle and Maria. They are very proud of their accomplishments today, as are we. Both girls are learning that attitude is important and that they are limited only in as far as their minds will take them. This has been very helpful to her at school, because academically, she struggles and has to work much harder than her sister. Maria was very nervous about testing, especially about so many people there watching her. She was afraid that if she did something wrong, she woudn't earn her belt and "everyone would talk about her." She came away feeling more confident in her abilities and realizes that perfection is something we all strive for but may never achieve. She realizes that it's okay to make mistakes, as long as you learn from them and continue to persevere. Danielle learned that by focusing her mind and will on the tasks at hand she could overcome and work through the discomfort and complete her test. She too feels a great sense of accomplishment.  Danielle is just now beginning to become more confident in her physical abilities and is learning that she is capable of doing more than she thinks she can.  Both are relieved that testing is over though!

We are planning on participating at the Novi tournament. Both girls are eager to continue to work on perfecting their Kata so they can be the best they can be and represent Task Karate to the best of their abilities..
Thank you again. Keep up the good work. This is the best thing we ever did for our children.

Yasmeena's tournament

Good evening! Hope you had a great time at the tournament! Yasmeena is still smiling! She is so proud of herself as are we… She was very very apprehensive and nervous this morning on the way to the tournament however she found it in herself to swallow her fear and perform.. As I told you before she had the worst case of stage freight on the day of her dance recital and has been scared to perform in front of an audience. We never thought that she would get over it… Well today was the day that changed her.. We are so proud that she did not back down and performed in all 3 events.. She was very disappointed to take second place in sparring but we were not we were so Happy just to have her out on the floor in front of people and do her best! Fadi and I still can not believe it.. This experience, I think has laid a good foundation for success in dealing with her “stage freight”. She is really excited to perform at the next tournament which is a great feeling… We want to thank you so much for all your confidence and time you have taken with Yasmeena we are greatful..

We are hoping that with more practice on her sparring, that she will gain more confidence in the ring.. We will continue to do all we can to support her and please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help her at home as we will!

Thanks from Dan

Sensei,

have a big speech due tomorrow morning at 9am, just letting you know why I couldn't make it today. I also wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done for me for the competitions. Not just helping with paying, but also the support and training because if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be where I am today. The speech I am giving tomorrow is on TASK and my inspirational trainer. You staying with me on Saturday to receive my awards truly meant a lot; thank you so much for your support Sensei, it really helps keep me motivated.

Nick's mom

What a great thing you are doing ---- and it would be our pleasure to contribute. Nick will not be attending the party because we are leaving for Mexico that morning. You are such a great role model for our children and I am so thankful that we can help your student.   I will drop off our donation -- sometime this week. Nick will return after the 1st.

Thank you for being such a positive influence in our son's life and we wish you a blessed holiday season and a very happy New Year.

Denise Bither
